Sitting Less

Summary

  • Sitting for more than 8 hours in a day is a health risk increasing your chance of developing heart disease, cancer, and other chronic diseases.

  • You should try to take a break and stand up every 30 minutes.

  • Standing up at your desk is better than sitting. You can modify your desk, or add a laptop stand to help make this more comfortable for you.

  • Consider treadmill desks or under desk bikes to stay active while sitting.

  • Setup walking meetings when possible.

  • Move your garbage can farther away so you need to stand to throw something out.

  • Get up to fill up your water bottle regularly.
